Position Summary (major areas of contribution):

This position is a make to order/engineer to order position in a fast-paced, high-volume production, manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include developing designs in support of new and existing products that meet DFM guidelines to customer-specific requests and strategic business goals.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test new products and product improvements, including cost reductions, applying knowledge of engineering principles in a fast-paced environment.
• Employ problem-solving skills to resolve issues encountered in product development.
• Execute projects utilizing CAD software creating 3D models and assemblies and drafts of parts components and assemblies.
• Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to evaluate design, focusing on improving performance, overall design, quality, and safety.
• Provide product specifications and Bills of Material.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

• Solid understanding of strength of materials.
• Manufacturing environment experience is desired
• MUST be proficient in 3D CAD (Solid Edge and/or Solid Works)
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Innovative problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal communication
• Knowledge of NSF, UL, AC/DC power & circuitry, electric motor technology, and ergonomics a plus
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and six sigma a plus

Including Formal Training (courses, degrees, and credentials required):

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

No relocation package is being offered. Only local candidates within a 60-mile radius to commute to the facility. This is an on-site position.
