Extension is seeking a Design Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Fond du Lac County!Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Design Engineer will design sheet metal products from components to complete assemblies. This role focuses on meeting customer production and quality standards while ensuring on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable working on engineered-to-order and reverse engineering projects.Role ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop parts for manufacture from customer modelsReview and interpret customer specifications to ensure manufacturability with current capabilitiesProgram and maintain design layouts in SolidWorksRedesign standard products to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiencyEvaluate and select components and materials for productsCollaborate with purchasing to initiate purchase orders for required componentsProvide technical support for customers, service personnel, and field sales teamsDesired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering and 3–5 years of experienceProficiency in SolidWorksExperience with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprintsStrong problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle non-standard situations and ambiguous project requirementsSalary & Schedule On-site in Lomira, WIMonday-Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-12pm$110k - $125k based on experiencePlus yearly bonusTravel up to 20% to customer sitesWe’re looking forward to connecting with you and are excited to help you make your next career move!
