Collaborating closely with engineers, and project managers, you will prepare detailed calculations, develop technical drawings, and ensure designs meet both company and client standards. Your work will support the building and installation processes, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations. Essential Duties / Responsibilities Drawing & Specification Review: Read, interpret, and review 2D drawings. Design & Development: Prepare calculations for proposed machinery, develop sketches and designs using input from engineers and architects, and create designs in compliance with company procedures, regulations, and client standards. Collaboration: Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Sales departments to develop optimal products tailored to each project’s needs. Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring proper adherence to design specifications. Technical Analysis: Calculate factors such as tolerance, dimensions, and perform finite element analysis. Utilize customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve, or repair existing machinery. Project Tracking: Maintain accurate tracking of all projects, bidders’ lists, and specialty projects within the market segment. Finalize designs and send prints to the production department. Quality Assurance: Qualify and address any conflicts between drawings and specifications, document all inclusions, exclusions, and discrepancies clearly. Submit drawings to upper management and engineering teams for review. Order Management: Handle order entry for all projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. Qualifications A 4‑year B.S. degree in engineering (ME or MET) is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design or a related field. Proficient in SolidWorks (CSWP certification is a plus), Inventor, and AutoCAD. Strong computer and mathematical skills, with experience in Finite Element Analysis. Experience with weldment design is advantageous, as is familiarity with electronics, robotics, and metals. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with excellent problem‑solving abilities. Self‑motivated, capable of working effectively in a team environment, and adaptable to change. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on computer systems. Capability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds, such as equipment or design materials. Dexterity to handle drafting tools and equipment. Ability to work in a standard office environment and occasionally visit manufacturing or construction sites. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus for detailed drawing work.
