Desktop Administrator / Information Systems / Full Time Apply
Summary of Performance Expectations Responsible for the administration of end‑user related hardware and software solutions in a multi‑user environment, including PCs, laptops, thin‑clients, mobile devices, MSI packages, Group Policy, etc. Performs Active Directory maintenance and support. Configures, integrates, and administers multiple Desktop Management Systems. Provides expert‑level support for all Desktop Management functionality. Ensures adherence to security policy for client software and hardware as needed. Aids in the administration of web‑based software including web browsers, browser extensions, policy and related issues. Manages desktop software inventory. Provides on‑call support as required. Education and Credentials Required: Associate degree in Computer Science or high school diploma with five years of experience in Desktop Administration in a computing environment similar to that of CVMC. Obtain recognized industry certification within two years of employment date for current desktop operating system. Maintain certification for current CVMC desktop operating system. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Work Experience Required: Three years of experience in managing issues associated with desktop technology, including automated software delivery, application healing, and application policy management using ZENworks application layering and virtualization technology. Three years of experience working in Microsoft Active Directory. Experience with Desktop Management Software and Single Sign‑On Applications. Working with vendors on complex technical problems. Preferred: Experience with ZENworks, Windows, Enterprise LANs and WANs, Microsoft Office, and Novell GroupWise. Experience with Desktop Management Software and Single Sign‑On Applications.
