Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Engineer for a W2 contract position onsite in Bonita Springs, FL.*** No Corp-to-Corp; No C2C; No Referrals from C2C ***Rate Range: $40.00/hour to $50.00/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Responsibilities:Manage the creation, testing, and deployment of software packages across enterprise environments using Tanium and other deployment platforms, while proactively troubleshooting failures, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.Provide critical escalations to management when deployments impact business operations and deliver comprehensive reports and status updates for high‑visibility projects.Act as the primary escalation point for desktop‑related IT support tickets, taking full ownership to resolve issues independently when engineering involvement isn’t required, while reviewing incoming tickets for completeness and providing constructive feedback when details are missing.Maintain clear communication among support teams, engineering, and end users, and document resolutions to enhance overall support processes.Use standardized templates to build small to medium‑complexity software packages and develop PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) solutions for tasks such as file management and registry updates.Thoroughly test and validate packaged applications across operating systems and hardware configurations to ensure compatibility and successful deployment through Tanium.Perform quarterly updates of Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) tools and manage enterprise-wide Java deployments to maintain system security and currency, while monitoring third‑party automation tools to ensure consistent, reliable operation.Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to validate updates prior to deployment, ensuring smooth and secure rollout across the environment.Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for deployment processes, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations while capturing lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful deployments to strengthen organizational knowledge.Qualifications:3–5 years of proven experience in desktop engineering, application packaging, or IT support roles.Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), SCCM/Configuration Manager, or Intune.Familiarity with endpoint security best practices including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and access controls.Hands-on experience with Tanium, Application Packaging, PSADT, PowerShell, Java, and EPP tools.Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server environments, and desktop virtualization.Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and deployment.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
