Accountabilities:

  • Providing Desktop (Windows 11) and windows application support for front office and back-office users including hardware support.
  • Providing front line technical support on the dealing floor for trading applications, liaising, or escalating issues where relevant to specialist development teams.
  • Management of local Active Directory to implement local access policies, manage user accounts and permissions and ensure data security.
  • Maintaining Westpac's Cybersecurity standards through effective patch management, virus-scanning and following our global data security processes
  • Administration of desktop and mobile telephony systems including trading dealerboards and mobile voice recording
  • Ensuring operational and system documentation is created and maintained, including amongst other things incident and problem records and user and system documentation.
  • Regular communications with a variety of business and technology stakeholders

Risk, Regulatory, Conduct and Culture:

  • Drive and maintain a strong risk culture with a relentless focus on initiatives to strengthen the control environment
  • Assess, manage and optimise risk to ensure that financial goals are met within agreed risk appetite levels.
  • Maintain appropriate market profile and position
  • Lead by example and encourage others to behave in ways which support the development of a successful and desired business culture
  • Demonstrate and promote 'One Westpac' team behaviours with the aim to facilitate greater internal communication and performance outcomes across lines of business
  • Satisfactory performance against applicable internal and external compliance and control standards and codes of conduct including but not limited to conduct rules under the Senior Manager and Certified Person Regime
  • Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

Previous experience

  • 3 years experience in desktop support financial services organization


The following skills are considered valuable to the success of this role:

Technical skills:

  • Desktop Support experience
  • Windows 11 support, O365
  • Active Directory administration
  • Telephony (IPC Dealerboards) administration and Mobile Device Management
  • 3 years experience in a financial services organization
  • Knowledge of SCCM and software deployment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills




People skills:

  • Customer and quality focused.
  • Quick learner with a great "can do" attitude.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills especially when dealing with business and technology units and vendors.
  • Experienced in working with a diverse range of people (e.g. front office, back office, Finance, Infrastructure, Compliance and Risk).
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and available for on-call and weekend support roster.
  • Able to take ownership of an issue and follow it through to completion


Academic Qualifications:

  • Formal tertiary or higher education qualifications required.

  • External Vendors (Verizon, Broadway, ION, Bloomberg, FXAll, 360T, FX Connect)
