We are looking for a detailed oriented candidate to create project submittals for commercial doors, frames and hardware. This job is focused on documenting product specifications and creating technical drawings.

General Description of duties:

• Reads and interprets architectural drawings and specifications
• Thoroughly researching each piece of commercial hardware
• Creating detailed, accurate product specifications
• Create "Take-offs" on doors, frames, and hardware
• Create submittals on a timely basis and updates standardized forms making changes in the submittal where necessary.
• Create machining sheets and other design specs for frames, doors and hardware products where necessary
• Problem solve issues that arise within plans and specifications
• A Project Engineer must be current on codes, products and design changes for doors, frames, and finish hardware, this means attending classes on vendor products

Experience Preferred:

• Experience with Wood Doors, Hollow Metal Doors and Frames, and Commercial Hardware
• Proven experience documenting product specifications
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Must be familiar with contract documents
• Strong reading comprehension
• Must be accurate and show great attention to detail
• Possess strong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task
• Computer proficient with Internet, MS Word, and Excel (creating formulas and spreadsheets)
• Aptitude for learning industry -related computer software
