Job Details Developer 4, Systems Software at Merastar Insurance Company in Richardson, TX. 40 hrs./wk.
Responsibilities Provide technical support for applications and system software technologies.
Develop, document and execute unit test cases.
Resolve complex technical issues with applications and processes.
Recommend test plans for impacted areas and end‑to‑end test coverage.
Recommend process improvements.
Ensure quality reviews of application software designs.
Lead projects across technical disciplines.
Develop technical knowledge and skills of IS project teams.
Support proof‑of‑concept activities for new technologies.
Guide teams on solutions for resolving frequently occurring production problems.
Lead team in phase gates for projects.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience providing technical leadership on large or complex application installation, development and support projects.
Proficiency in program design methods, techniques, and standard development tools.
Hands‑on experience with frameworks, languages and tools such as Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, REST, Tomcat, AWS, PostgreSQL, GIT, JIRA, Eclipse and Jenkins.
Experience identifying improvement areas in architecture, integration and design.
Experience teaching and providing instruction to co‑workers, and giving feedback on progress toward goals.
Experience with cloud development practices and various project methodologies (agile and waterfall).
Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and understand technical controls, security concepts and SOX requirements.
3 years experience providing managerial direction.
Travel Up to 5% short‑term domestic travel to attend industry conferences.
