Purpose of theposition
The Development Director willbe responsible foroverseeing the day-to-day implementation of fundraising and development strategies, ensuring thatobjectivesare met efficiently and effectively.TheDirectorwill provide strategic and hands-on leadership across fundraising functions, including individual giving, major gifts, and corporate partnerships. This role will work closely with the President and CEO, senior leadership, and key community stakeholders to grow philanthropic support aligned with EO Companies mission and long-term vision.
Essential functions
- Lead the development and execution of EO Companies fundraising strategy, aligned with organizational priorities and growth goals
- Manage and grow a diverse revenue portfolio, including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and public-private partners
- Build, steward, and strengthen relationships with major donors and community leaders
- Partner with the President and CEO and senior staff to support and advance fundraising efforts
- Oversee donor pipeline management, cultivation strategies, and stewardship practices
- Ensureaccuratetracking, reporting, and analysis of fundraising performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align development efforts with programmatic and strategic initiatives
- Represent EO Companies externally with professionalism, credibility, and enthusiasm for the mission

Work environment
This position is based in the Abingdon, Virginia office.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required tosit and talk or hear. The employeefrequentlyis required touse hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employeeis occasionally required tostand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specificvisionabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position type and expected hours of work
Employeeshould be able to work core hoursof8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional meetings, events, andpossible emergenciesoutside of core hours.
Travel required
The ideal candidate will be available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetingsin personand should be able to travel independentlywhere needed.
Certificates, licenses,registrationsrequired
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
- Reliable high-speed home internet.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or universityrequired.
- At least 5 years of fundraising and development experience, with progressively responsible leadership positions.
- Demonstratedtrack recordof meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals in amedium to largenonprofit environment.
- Strong background in managing all aspects of fundraising, including high net worth individuals, foundations, and corporate relations.
- Proficiencyin fundraising applications for comprehensive donor data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of datautilizationand management for strategic operations and decision-making.
