Development Manager (Part-Time, Potential to Grow to Full-Time, Hybrid) Issaquah History Museums — Issaquah, WA About Issaquah History Museums Issaquah History Museums (IHM) preserves and shares the stories of Issaquah and the surrounding region through exhibits, programs, and community partnerships. Our work strengthens civic connection, fosters belonging, and helps residents understand their place in Issaquah’s evolving story. Position Summary IHM seeks a part‑time Development Manager to expand and strengthen our fundraising program. This part‑time role will lead efforts to cultivate donor relationships, secure philanthropic support, and build sustainable revenue streams that advance our mission. The Development Manager will assess current and past fundraising activities, and build a pipeline across private, corporate and foundation sources. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Planning Review and analyze IHM’s current and historical fundraising efforts. Develop a three‑month fundraising plan (to start) outlining strategies for private, corporate, and government funding opportunities. Collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual revenue goals and track progress. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Identify and build relationships with potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Solicit donations from individual and corporate donors, together with the Executive Director, Board Member(s) or on your own. Maintain regular communication with donors, including timely acknowledgment letters and impact updates. Develop and implement strategies for donor retention and growth, including opportunities for legacy giving and endowment contributions. Campaigns, Appeals & Materials In partnership with the Executive Director, plan and execute annual fundraising campaigns, special appeals, and targeted solicitations to help us meet our annual goals. Design or coordinate the creation of promotional and fundraising materials. Support fundraising tied to specific exhibits, programs, or capital needs. Data & Systems Management Maintain accurate donor records using Little Green Light, our CRM at IHM. Track fundraising metrics and prepare bi‑weekly reports for the Executive Director. Ensure compliance with nonprofit fundraising standards and ethical guidelines. Qualifications Required Demonstrated experience and interest in nonprofit fundraising, preferably within museums, cultural organizations, or the humanities. Experience identifying and cultivating donors at the $1,000+ level. Experience managing a portfolio of 50+ prospective donors and moving them through the pipeline from initial identification and qualification to solicitation and stewardship. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively. Ability to build relationships, inspire support, and engage diverse stakeholders. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems. Strong organizational and project‑management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and volunteers. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community‑centered practice. Preferred Familiarity with Issaquah, Seattle Eastside, and Washington State philanthropic landscapes, or interest in learning. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or related/transferable work experience. Work Environment & Schedule Part‑time hybrid position (20 hours/week). Some on‑site work required for meetings, events, and community engagement. Occasional evening or weekend hours for programs or fundraising events. Potential to expand to full‑time as fundraising capacity grows. Compensation Salary range: $38,000–$42,000 annually for 20 hours/week (half‑time), depending on experience.
