Through its unique program, parents and caregivers partner with program staff to develop strategies to support their child's development, select the material items that their child needs, and connect with community resources that can expand their support network. Position Summary

Room to Grow is seeking a Development Operations Coordinator to join the External Engagement team, which leads the organizations fundraising, marketing and communications and inventory procurement. Reporting to the Senior Director of External Engagement, the Coordinator will be responsible for database management (Salesforce) related to External Engagement, gift processing and stewardship operations. They will collaborate closely with all members of the External Engagement team and be the primary liaison to Room to Grows Operations and Finance teams. A successful candidate will have Salesforce experience and a high degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving, allowing them to actively contribute to the development and implementation of organization-wide fundraising efforts.


Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the organization's database (i.e. Salesforce) on behalf of the External Engagement Department, including conducting all donation entry and maintaining accurate donor records (event invitations, attendance, etc.)
  • Create, update and maintain policies and procedures for database systems including standard operating procedures, naming conventions, campaign hierarchy, etc.
  • Implement data hygiene protocols to maintain the integrity and reliability of organizational data
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for fundraising, operations, and finance to ensure effective tracking and management of donations.
  • Lead monthly and annual revenue reconciliation in partnership with the Finance Department
  • Oversee organizations online fundraising platform (i.e. Classy), including building, tracking, and reporting on fundraising campaigns
  • Create customized reports for individual team members to ensure proper tracking and follow up of donors
  • Coordinate data sharing with team and other departments including operations and finance
  • Work with marketing and communications to pull mailing and email lists
  • Support the Grants team with foundation and grant reporting, as needed
  • Maintain proficiency with database systems and identify and recommend opportunities to improve systems
  • Conduct data analytics activities including monitoring fundraising metrics and stakeholder outreach such as collection of pledges, rate of new, increased, and renewed donations, etc.
  • Support additional operational aspects of the External Engagement team as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • A passion for the mission, vision, and core values of Room to Grow
  • Relevant experience in development, operations, or administration preferred; background in nonprofit or mission-driven companies preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in database management software (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser's Edge)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data management and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and a curiosity and eagerness to explore and interpret data, with a proactive approach to uncovering insights and identifying trends.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with donors, staff, and volunteers.
  • This role is ideally hybrid in Boston, MA or Bronx, NY. Candidates based in Boston, MA or New York, NY preferred. Candidates in other locations will be considered.
