DevOps Engineer

As a full-time remote DevOps Engineer, the Enterprise Systems Engineer V will design, deploy, and manage a secure AI workflow infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability and governance while enhancing automation capabilities across Avalara's platforms. Key responsibilities Own the technical infrastructure for AI workflow tools, ensuring resilience, scalability, and cost-effectiveness Embed security and compliance into AI workflows, implementing governance practices to safeguard production environments Define and drive operational metrics and observability for the AI workflow platform, systematically improving incident response and reliability Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 5-8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering for SaaS or large-scale distributed systems Strong expertise with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) Proven ownership of CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing and security scanning Demonstrated experience using AI tools in engineering or operations with measurable impact on performance
