Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract opportunity offers you the flexibility of working virtually with a district-wide caseload of 10-15 elementary to high school students. Step into the upcoming school year as a trusted resource for students, families, and schools, using your expertise to ensure every learner has full access to the educational experience they deserve.

Your strengths in tailoring instructional strategies, collaborating with educational teams, and advocating for student success will be essential in this VOCO (virtual) position. Qualifications:

  • Current, active Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing License (TDHH)
  • Experience with elementary through high school-aged students (district-wide caseload)
  • Proficient with virtual/teletherapy platforms and online instructional tools
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • School-based experience is desirable, with differentiated compensation based on years of experience
  • Flexibility for prescreen interviews between 9-11a and 2-3p EST (times can be adjusted)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via virtual platforms
  • Collaborate with IEP teams, families, and school staff to support student progress
  • Adapt curriculum and resources to meet individualized needs
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress
  • Serve as an advocate for access and equity across assigned schools

This position pays according to your level of experience, with increasing rates for seasoned educators.
