Pay Range $19.40 - $22.50, based on experience. Main Function The DI Assistant exhibits leadership skills in communication, team building, process improvement, development of responsibility through delegation of activity, and promotion of office efficiencies. Demonstrates skills in communication and prioritizing assignments, and the ability to develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all system departments, the medical staff and other health‑care professionals at Thompson Health. Exhibits time‑management skills, keyboarding skills and multi‑tasking abilities to assure business components of the department are maintained at an efficient and effective level. Makes every effort to satisfy the needs of every customer in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Has a working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging testing and understands the complex scheduling issues involved with timely and appropriate testing of patients. Required Job Specific Competencies Provides clerical support for the Diagnostic Imaging department through interaction and coordination with the Diagnostic Imaging Director, Supervisors and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. Plays a vital role in assuring diagnostic care is made available to each patient through referrals, appointments and services. Provides full support for the Diagnostic Imaging Department in the form of telephone response, patient scheduling of Mammography future and recall appointments, obtaining physician order prior to testing, verifying accuracy of request with order in McKesson Paragon and PACS. Manages the maintenance of medical records, Mammography film filing and the department’s computerized system PACS system for digital imaging. Assists in, and performs diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized office. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience. Customer service experience required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Medical terminology strongly desired or willingness to complete an online course within 6 months of hire. Secretarial/Clerical experience with strong organizational skills preferred. Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel helpful. Computer knowledge and skills including several McKesson Paragon applications involved in scheduling, ordering, and reporting of Diagnostic Imaging examinations and PACS preferred. 2 to 3 years of previous medical office and/or hospital experience preferred. 1 to 2 years of computerized or electronic scheduling experience preferred.
