Operates within the "Practice Standards" and "Code of Ethics" of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Works together with physicians to perform a variety of specialized procedures. Sets up and adjusts equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, and knowledge of imaging various anatomical structures. Is able to position patients to obtain images of the area of interest, while respecting the patient's ability and comfort. Obtains appropriate patient information for the procedure being completed. Utilizes PPE and other guidelines as needed. Recognizes emergent situations and activates assistance as needed. Assists other areas and shifts as needed. Education Satisfactory completion of formal technology training. License/Certification Registered or registry eligible by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technology in ultrasound (ARRT ultrasound) and obtain valid certification within 12 months of graduation from an approved ultrasound training program or completion of approved cross training. (Encourage advanced certifications.) CPR Certification. Experience Previous experience in ultrasound preferred, but not required, or previous experience in a similar role.
