| General job duties. Types of procedures required. All technical services related to dialysis. Includes all dialysis equipment, water system and all dialysis related equipment. Provides patient care under the supervision of the RN within the SD dialysis technician scope of practice. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. B Braun hemodialysis machine, Epic computer systems. All related patient care equipment. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Must be CCHT certified with a minimum of 2 years hemodialysis experience. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. BLS, CCHT certification Shift or schedule requirements. 12 hour shifts with a variety of start times; Monday-Saturday open (beginning at 4:30/5:00/5:30 or 6:00 am) and closing shifts (until 8 pm) as directed by Charge RN. Every other Saturday is preferred. Techs do not take call. Floating to other units/departments. No floating Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. Chronic 28 stations Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. Ratio is 1 nurse or tech to every 4 patients, or 2:6 if you are paired with an RN Dress code: Gray scrubs and appropriate footwear Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. 2 eight hour day shifts with learning modules and 2 to4 twelve hour shifts with another tech. Traveler/ technician will be assigned a CCHT or RN preceptor who will evaluate skills and complete a dialysis specific checklist before independent tasks are performed. |
