Die Maintenance Supervisor Apply
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of auto parts manufacturing, metal stamping coupled with Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proficiency with radial arm drill press, lathe, bridge port, milling machine, various surface grinders, band saw, cut-off saw, Wire EDM & Sinker, OD grinder, 3D models and programming of CNC Mills from 3D surface models.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proficiency with various other machines normally associated with the day-to-day operation(s) of the die maintenance department.
- Candidate must be able to understand advanced mechanics of dies associated with blank, progressive, tandem, and/or secondary press operations. Candidate must also possess an in-depth knowledge of tool steels and their applications.
- Responsible for proper training and supervision of all current and new employees.
- Responsible for updating and monitoring training logs for all employees.
- Responsible for processing, scheduling and tracking overtime for all employees.
- Work in conjunction with Quality and Engineering on continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all employees and departments.
- Responsible for the safety of all employees, including personal protective equipment.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
- Reports on any process and equipment problems.
- Maintains a "Can Do" Attitude along with excellent interpersonal skills to boost employee morale and ensure proper procedures are followed and Safety, Quality and Production are followed and met.
- Communicates with Press Department and Production Control to ensure proper schedules are followed and production needs are met.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
- Responsible for collaboration with human resource department on disciplinary actions and counseling with assigned staff.
- In-Press Troubleshooting/Evaluation
- Countermeasure solutions in relation to dies/tooling/fixture for quality related and operational issues
- Maintaining of die maintenance spare parts (Value & Stock)
- Die Improvements (documentation of progress, i.e. before and after pictures, performance related results
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Primary portion of work is in well-lit and ventilated facility.
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable sitting/standing/walking.
- Position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, bending, handling, and/or use of tactile information.
- Must be able to express ideas or exchange thoughts by means of talking, hearing, reading and/or writing.
- Requires motor coordination, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination and may include transporting objects and lifting up to 80 pounds.
- Exposure to various types of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and other agents utilized in factory.
