Job Title: Diesel Mechanic-Electrician

Location: Fordville, ND
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (may include weekends and holidays)
Travel: Up to 30% as needed

Overview:

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a Fordville-based company seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic-Electrician. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on diesel locomotives and heavy equipment. Candidates should be experienced in both mechanical and electrical systems and capable of working in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and maintain diesel engines and electrical systems
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in high and low voltage equipment
• Replace and assemble components such as traction motors, voltage regulators, and engine parts
• Operate tools and equipment including micrometers, calipers, welders, and hydraulic tools
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work area

Required Skills:

• Mechanical and electrical repair expertise
• Knowledge of AC/DC systems
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Team-oriented with a flexible work attitude

Experience:

• 2-3 years as a diesel mechanic or in a related field
• Experience with locomotives, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery preferred

Education:

• GED or high school diploma required
• Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions and around moving machinery
