Position Overview

SDLtek is seeking a Digital Media Specialist to support Commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. The Digital Media Specialist will develop and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy, produce engaging multimedia content, and manage CNSG MIDPAC's official social media presence in full alignment with Navy messaging guidelines, DoD policy, and security requirements.

Digital Media Strategy

Collaborate with Fleet Forces Command to craft and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy that aligns with COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC's objectives.

Content Creation

Generate engaging multimedia content (videos, graphics, articles, infographics) tailored to resonate with diverse audiences.

Platform Management

Actively oversee, operate, and maintain CNSG MIDPAC's social media profiles (specifically Facebook and Instagram), employing tailored engagement tactics - contests, polls, live sessions - and community-driven initiatives to enhance audience participation.

Analytics & Reporting

Conduct regular analysis of social media metrics, audience behavior, and campaign performance to derive actionable insights and provide comprehensive performance reports.

Compliance & Security

Ensure strict adherence to Navy messaging guidelines, DoD policies, security directives, and confidentiality standards in all digital communication efforts.

Collaborative Coordination

Foster collaborative relationships across departments to maintain consistent branding and messaging throughout all digital platforms.

Required Qualifications

Relevant experience in social and digital media management, with demonstrated experience in a DoD or Navy environment strongly preferred.

Proven ability to produce multimedia content, including video production/editing, graphic design, article writing, and infographic development.

Working knowledge of digital analytics tools and platforms, with the ability to translate metrics into actionable performance reports.

Demonstrated experience managing organizational Facebook and Instagram profiles, including content calendars, community engagement tactics (contests, polls, live sessions), and crisis/issue response.

Strong written and visual communication skills, with close attention to brand consistency, accuracy, and tone.

Ability to work collaboratively with military public affairs staff, Fleet Forces Command, and cross-functional teams.

Working knowledge of Navy/DoD public affairs and communications policy (e.g., DoD social media guidance, OPSEC considerations) is highly desirable.

Security & Eligibility Requirements

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) based on a favorable National Agency Check with Law and Credit (NACLC) or Tier 3 (T3) background investigation.

Must be able to work on-site at a US military installation and comply with all applicable base access and security requirements.

Compliance Expectations

Ensure strict adherence to Navy messaging guidelines, DoD policies, and OPSEC/security directives across all published content.

Maintain confidentiality standards in all digital communications and coordinate content review/approval per command public affairs procedures.

Support consistent branding and messaging across all digital platforms in coordination with Fleet Forces Command and CNSG MIDPAC leadership.
