HOURS: Varying Saturday hours

Per Diem - Direct Care Group Support Professional

The Waterbury Arc serves the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities in Waterbury, Bethlehem, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, Plymouth, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury. It strives to offer numerous opportunities by providing updated services and innovative programs, thereby encouraging each individual to reach their full potential.

Positioned locally near Downtown Waterbury at 1929 East Main St

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required. Prior experience working with individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must maintain a valid drivers license with the potential for a Public Service Endorsement. Required to work Saturdays.

REPORTING SUPERVISOR: Respite Coordinator

CREDENTIALS DESIRED: (ANY INTERESTED CANDIDATE MAY BE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING) Public Service Licensing, PMT Certification, First Aid, CPR and DDS Medication Administration Card. (Paid for by the company)

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Providing engaging and fulfilling opportunities that allow for peer involvement, increased social interaction and community experience.
  • Accepting direction from supervisory positions without incident as well as exemplifying a positive work ethic and enthusiasm for creativity and group related events.
  • Aiding in personal care for program participants, including but not limited to toileting, showering, oral hygiene, changing and dressing.
  • Fulfilling all documentary obligations with accuracy and truthfulness as well as submitting said documentation to appropriate supervisor in a timely fashion.
  • Handling and monitoring money and returning all change and receipts to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Protecting the dignity and integrity of individuals with ID/DD by respecting their rights as human beings and as essential components in our agencys mission statement.
  • Setting a positive example both in-house and in the community as it pertains to social interaction and appropriate behavior.
