Systems Analyst

Lansing, MI Hybrid

10 Months + Extension

We are looking for the candidates who can work on W2.

Hybrid: Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local candidates who are willing to relocate. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. Resource will be working a hybrid schedule.

As a Systems Analyst for the Department of Technology, Management, Budget providing support to Treasury, the employee performs a complete range of information system analyst assignments including, but not limited to, developing applications, creating requirements, test plans, document applications for Treasury Projects. This individual will provide technical support to other team members and evaluate new development tools and agency systems. Evaluate, document, and inform DTMB management and supported client agency of impact and risks, including disaster recovery planning, Treasury solutions due to proposed legislation, enhancement requests, or changes in governmental processes or procedures. Ability to follow and implement the SUITE process of documentation.

Skill set Ability to lead meetings, Clear Communication, Follow-up, Sharepoint administration, able to write detailed requirements, test plans, user guides, other documentation, etc., has experience and knowledge of project/work estimation and able to provide estimates for when their part of the work will be done., knows data capture software.

This position will be dedicated. Candidate must have System Analyst experience.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to successfully work independently
  • Must be proficient and experienced at writing and modifying system documentation
  • Must be able to independently lead working sessions with assigned team of both technical and non-technical individuals (requires good presentation skills)
  • Provide clear communication both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to clearly explain technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Be able to develop applications
  • Provide content approval and validate estimates for the entire schedule of the project for the Project Manager to ensure compliance with the SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) and the Systems Engineering Methodology (SEM).
  • Facilitate requirements gathering/meetings with clients to gather requirements (traditional waterfall and agile) for all IT solutions and to identify impacted business processes and determine best process and IT solution integration.
  • Lead artifact reviews with peers, system specialists, Enterprise Security and other DTMB entities to ensure IT solutions and applications adhere to DTMB and agency policies, standards or guidelines.
  • Validate and finalize Local Change Board and Enterprise Change Board documents.
  • Ensure proper change management for all requested fixes to production systems.
  • Ensure proper change management for all requested changes to system designs and system architecture standards are documented.
  • Responsible for development of training content and facilitate training.
  • Validate test data and test results.
  • Differentiate between defects and new requirements and initiate change requests as necessary.
  • Develop and monitor defect tracking logs and facilitate problem resolution.
  • Review and approve project management documents.

A bachelor's degree is required.
