Responsibilities
Advance client’s decision‑making, productivity, and participation in a range of daily activities. Facilitate the client’s inclusion in positive community experiences. Promote independence in daily activities while being mindful of the client’s intellectual and physical disabilities and assist with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming and dressing as assigned. Maintain current knowledge of client’s needs.
Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person. Maintain positive communications and relationships with supervisor, clients, landlords, employers, Family members, Regional Center, D.O.R., and other community individuals. Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of task analysis and other requested assessment devices.
Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. Provide positive advocacy when the individual’s preferences, needs, or talents are neglected or overlooked. Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully using methods outlined in plans and training.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience & Skills:
18 years of age or older.
Aptitude for confidentiality, organizational skills, and good interpersonal skills.
Certification in an approved First‑Aid and CPR class within 45 days of hire.
Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Additional Requirements
Mobile device: Must have a mobile smart device (cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity for essential job tasks. Reasonable reimbursement provided.
Schedule: Works as scheduled by Regional Manager or designee; may be part or full time based on client needs. Overtime may be required. No holiday or overtime may be worked without prior approval from the supervisor.
License: Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver’s license.
Travel: Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.
