One day back in 1968, as Robert Jean de Vogüé at the time President of Moët & Chandon, was attending a distributors’ conference in California, he inadvertently found himself in the wrong room. We are excited to announce the opportunity of Direct-To Consumer Director is now available. Join the Chandon team! You will work out of our newly remodeled Yountville, CA location. Situated in the beautiful natural landscape of the Napa Valley, it will make coming to work a treat.
You will be at the helm of our entire Chandon Home operation and Direct-To-Consumer strategy.
You will provide strategic leadership and guidance to ensure our business is aligned with the Chandon vision. You will lead Chandon Home and Direct-To-Consumer strategy by setting its direction & priorities, leading on-site and online customer service, elevating the brand, and meeting sales targets. By focusing on driving foot traffic, managing teams, and delivering high quality guest experience, you will be able to accelerate client acquisition & increase retention to ensure long-term business profitability.
You focus on strategic leadership, influential employee development, prudent financial management, deep product knowledge, and sincere hospitality to facilitate this high bar. Through methodical planning and organization, you execute your strategic brand vision for Chandon Home for both online & offline experiences. You develop new initiatives to further our Direct-to Consumer strategy such as cultivation of business-to-business partnerships and tourism partners. You are a leader who can affect change and offer new perspectives to represent our luxury brand.
You are someone who cares deeply about operational excellence as you know it is the key lever for consumer satisfaction. You have led businesses in the luxury, retail, or hospitality space. You ensure through strong leadership and employee development; you can execute your brand vision for Chandon Home and Direct-to Consumer strategy. You are a steward of the financial and business growth of Chandon Home and our Direct-to Consumer businesses – ensuring you are meeting key financial metrics while also growing the business through innovative initiatives and partnerships with new vendors, guests, organizations, and companies. You are a champion for all things compliance, safety, and quality assurance. You have rigorous quality control processes and ensure all legal and regulatory orders are followed methodically.

Requirements
Education & Languages
- BA/ BS required; MA/ MBA preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret general business documents, including writing reports and business correspondence
- English mandatory, second language is a plus
Professional experience & know how: Customer service experience is required.

- 15-20 years of experience in Business management, marketing background is a plus
- Experience in Luxury, Retail, Hospitality or tourism
- International experience outside US and with EU partners
- Proven project, planning, POS & team management experience
- Deep understanding of DTC business is highly recommended
Technical & Management skills:
- Luxury business background, able to achieve the fine balance of sales returns and brand building
- Capability to demonstrate high-standards & warm hospitality attitude (smile, generosity, empathy, genuine enthusiasm, capacity to build rapport) and clienteling
- Strong retail / hospitality skills, performance & team management, high-quality standards & results oriented
- Merchandising supervision and execution, floor layout and operations requirements, gross margin and dollars / square foot analysis, P&L analysis, trade / brand relationship management
- Ability to mentor teams and cultural change leadership to implement new service expectations both for the frontline staff, back office staff and team managers
- Interest in talent assessment and people development, operations and strategic initiatives implementation
Personal & Interpersonal skills:
- Client oriented, positive and motivational, highly engaging leadership style, effective in delivering results in challenging situations
- Detail-orientation, self-motivation, proactive problem solving, follow-through and ability to work with limited supervision are vital to the success of this position.
Strong team player, excellent communication skills both within and outside of the organization
