Director, Infrastructure and Networks St. George’s University invites applicants for the position of Director, Infrastructure and Networks within the Office of Information Technology. Job Description Objective: The Director of Infrastructure & Networks is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization’s IT infrastructure and network services. This role ensures the availability, reliability, scalability, and security of all infrastructure systems including data centers, cloud platforms, servers, storage, networking, telecommunications, and related services to support current and future business needs. The Director will oversee cross-functional teams, manage large-scale projects, and ensure compliance with industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions Lead the strategic direction and execution of cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and adoption of innovative technologies. Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performing network and data center environments. Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Manage and develop technical teams, vendor relationships, and procurement processes. Ensure operational excellence through budget management, performance monitoring, and ITIL-based service management. Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and execute the organization’s infrastructure and network strategy in alignment with business goals. Design, implementation, and capacity planning for enterprise network architecture and data center environments. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovation, efficiency, and performance improvements. Secure, high-performing network and data center environments, referencing identity management, network segmentation, and threat detection. Monitoring, reporting, and operational excellence: Maintain robust monitoring systems and produce regular performance reports. Team & Vendor Management: Supervise, train, and mentor teams; build strong vendor partnerships and negotiate contracts. Procurement & Documentation: Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, and scope-of-work documents. Work Environment / Physical Demands Professional office environment with standard office equipment. Occasional lifting of office products and supplies. Occasional stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, drive company vehicles. Good concentration and ability to maintain focus. Hours and Travel Typical work week: 40 hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, availability during non-work hours. Essential Worker (Disaster) as required. Travel to alternate locations, including international travel, permissible. Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain license. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and network management, at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
