Job Description

Direct and organize the administration of Banquet Department to establish the standards of food & beverage quality and service. Work closely with the Catering & Events and Culinary teams on the planning and the logistics of the departments to maximize profits and create customer loyalty with both internal and external customers.

  • This comprehensive role demands leadership, operational expertise, financial acumen, and excellent communication to deliver exceptional banquet experiences while maintaining profitability and safety standards.
  • Oversees daily banquet operations, supervising managers, servers, bartenders, and set-up staff to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and quality standards.
  • Develop, Implement and maintain department’s service guidelines and standards in regards to training, department standards of operations, service standards, equipment par levels and event set-up specifications.
  • Interview, recommend hiring, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend, and conduct performance and salary reviews, recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Coordinates with clients and internal teams to review banquet event orders, ensuring proper setup, service, and guest satisfaction.
  • Calculate and review the Banquet checks ensuring accuracy and present the check to the customer for signature to ensure payment.
  • Handles financial tasks including accurate billing, tip reports, payroll, and monitoring costs related to labor, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manages long- and short-term planning, including departmental budgets, expense control, revenue maximization and participates in financial reviews to discuss any variances against forecasted revenue and or expenses.
  • Attend and prepare for all menu tastings, pre-cons, individual team member, staff and departmental meetings.
  • Ensures sanitation, maintenance, and safety of banquet areas and equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with guests and staff, addressing issues promptly and maintaining high service standards.
  • Oversees inventory, post-event cleanup, and space reset, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
  • Ensures seamless event execution from planning to post-event follow-up, maintaining service standards and addressing guest concerns.
  • Collaborates with culinary and event teams to develop menus and maximize revenue through creative offerings.
  • Works flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • Two-year college (associate) degree required.
  • At least five years as a Banquet Managerial level.
  • Hospitality experience required.
  • At least five years experience in direct supervision.
  • Microsoft knowledge.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or any other language.
