Position Summary

This position is accountable for and manages the development, implementation and maintenance of Medicaid Clinical implementations and special projects, as assigned. Project scope typically includes a focus on staffing and acquisition/onboarding of talent, to meet contractual requirements. Supports the business by taking appropriate actions, strategies and/or alternatives to meet business needs typically tied to a key Aetna Medicaid practice (project management, business process management, implementation, etc.). Leads complex projects through to implementation.

Sets strategic direction for team and/or complex projects or special projects that may run multiple years in duration with high financial implications. This position has full accountabilities for all aspects of projects such as financial, regulatory, marketing, etc. Scope of work may impact processes, systems, functions, and/or products. Prioritizes work, resources, and time. Ensures the end state of the project meets business objective(s) and that all deliverables and due dates are met. Highly collaborative process often requires managing relationships across the health plan, shared services, and with growth partners/functional areas.

REMOTE POSITION & CAN BE WORKED FROM ANY LOCATION WITHIN THE UNITED STATES.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversees E2E Clinical Process Milestones, dependencies, and escalations across challenging workstreams
  • Oversight of milestone planning, detailed project planning, workflow design and documentation, data analytics, leading cross functional workstream meetings, and keeping SMEs and senior leaders informed and accountable
  • Sets the direction of the strategic business plan for assigned project(s) and translates into vision for staff and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • As a business leader, influences all stakeholders to support key projects/programs to ensure positive outcomes that deliver on results.
  • Collaboratively works across multiple functions and /or segments to obtain agreement from all stakeholders
  • Identifies end-to-end process gaps and recommends enhancements related to new and/or existing processes and workflows based on broad view of the organization.
  • Builds and fosters strong working relationships with shared services and other matrixed partners.
  • Daily and extensive contact with C-suite and other sr. leaders.
  • Collaborates and partners with other functional managers, other business areas across/within segments or other business areas to ensure all process, workflows and interdependencies are identified and addressed.
  • Consults with constituents (internal and external) to scope/define practice or project work.
  • Influences change in order to improve performance results, organization effectiveness and/or systems/quality/services.
  • Collaboratively works across multiple functions and /or segments to obtain agreement from all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of new ideas that supports work/team.
  • Leads the development of project work plans; identifies milestones, key tasks, and appropriate timelines to meet go live date. Implements strategic work plans to achieve business goals.
  • Engages End to End team members to ensure all workstream tasks are accounted for, identifies risks and mitigation actions.
  • Leads Lessons Learned and Playbook actions for End to End team.
  • Administers satisfactions surveys at close of project resulting in quality improvements.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in health care, Medicaid managed care, or health plan operations is required.
  • 10+ years experience in business operations, project management, implementations, or business process development, is required.
  • 10+ years experience managing, leading, and developing teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite Applications, such as Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, OneNote, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and concepts.
  • Experience with business process development, implementations, migrations, system updates, or operational improvements is required.
  • Project/program expertise in stakeholder facilitations, communications, and relationship management is required.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Value process mapping experience Clinical Degree
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the companys equity award program.
