The Data Governance leader role is critical to the success of our data-driven initiatives at Nous. As we continues to expand its data capabilities, the complexity and scale of our data environments have increased. A Data Governance lead will ensure that we can bring in more rigor, process standards and monitoring into some of our critical decision making using data and align with the organization's strategic goals. This role will lead the data governance initiatives for enterprise systems and analytical data sets supporting our current and future business needs.

At Nous, the Data Governance team is pivotal to establishing an enterprise-wide approach to data quality, privacy, and security. As the Director of Data Governance, you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for setting and enforcing governance policies that ensure the accuracy, consistency, and protection of data across client's semiconductor business. You'll work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business unit leaders, and compliance officers to build a strong foundation for data governance, empowering teams to leverage high-quality data in decision-making and innovation.

By defining standards and ensuring data integrity, you will support Client's commitment to becoming a data-driven enterprise. Requirements

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the semiconductor or technology industry.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience with data governance technologies and tools, such as data catalogs, lineage tracking, and metadata management systems.
  • Proficiency in data management practices, including data architecture, master data management, and data lifecycle management.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills:

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Strategic Vision & Problem Solving:

  • Ability to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into actionable governance strategies.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on data quality, security, and organizational risk management.

Job Responsibilities

What You Can Expect

Data Governance Framework:

  • Develop and implement Client's data governance strategy, creating policies, standards, and processes that ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.
  • Establish and lead the Data Governance Committee, aligning stakeholders across business units to drive cohesive data practices and oversight.
  • Create data stewardship programs, defining roles and responsibilities to promote data ownership and accountability.

Data Quality & Consistency:

  • Oversee data quality initiatives, implementing robust data validation, profiling, and cleansing practices that support reliable and accurate data.
  • Establish guidelines and tools for data lifecycle management, including metadata management, master data management, and data cataloging.

Data Privacy & Security:

  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure data privacy and security standards are met, in alignment with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Implement policies to safeguard sensitive and confidential data, managing access control and ensuring compliance with internal and external privacy standards.

Data Literacy & Training:

  • Drive data literacy and awareness across Client's, creating training programs that empower employees to understand and uphold data governance principles.
  • Develop educational resources and workshops to help teams integrate data governance practices into their workflows effectively.

Technology & Process Integration:

  • Partner with data engineering and IT to embed data governance tools and processes into Client's data infrastructure, facilitating easy access to governed data.
  • Lead the adoption of governance technology platforms, ensuring scalable solutions for data cataloging, lineage tracking, and policy enforcement.
