Duties

  • The Director of Rangeland Management Staff, serves as consultant to the Chief of the Forest Service and Staff, other Staff Directors, Regional Foresters, and Research Station Directors, and Regional program Directors.
  • The director is responsible for accomplishing the forest management, range, soils, and landscape and vegetation ecology program management in the service.
  • The Director represents the Chief in numerous meetings with Members of Congress, industry, universities and state and forest management, range management, botany and landscape and vegetation ecology interest groups.
  • The Director provides national ·leadership and direction to the activities within the functional responsibilities for forest management, timber sales, special forest products.
