JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Division of Infectious Disease at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is in need of an Ambulatory Program Director.


Under the direction of the Director of the Clinical Business Operations, the Ambulatory Program Director coordinates and manages all aspects of patient care through the integrative care model approach, acting as a central point of contact for physicians, social workers, community outreach workers and hospital administrators. The Ambulatory Program Director ensures patients access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization and fiscal integrity. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the overall performance across all ambulatory locations.

Primary Duties:


  • Provides oversight and management for the daily operations of the medical office and ensures patient access to care.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a professional environment in the medical office. Adjusts operations as needed to maintain peak performance. Establish and maintains appropriate levels of equipment, office, and medical supplies to support the medical practice.
  • Gather and evaluate practice metrics and make recommendations to improve operating procedures.
  • Secure program funding through grant writing, grant management to support staff salaries and patient needs.
  • In collaboration with ID/IHV Leadership, Jacques Initiative managers integrate the JI program into the ambulatory practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.


Experience: Five (5) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience in a related field.


Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years' experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination, and implementation.


Certification/Licensure: Appropriate state licensure may be required as defined based upon the nature of the program.


Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.

Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Demonstrate pleasant and positive interactions with other to meet customer expectations and provide follow up with customers. Reaches compromise and consensus to influence and negotiate. Remains calm and is able to manage conflict and works well with a diverse workforce. Approachable style allows others to be open in sharing thoughts and ideas.


Hiring Range: $120,000 - $130,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
