LAB DIRECTORFull time40 hours a weekEducational Requirements/ Qualifications:NY state licenseBachelors degree in related field required, masters degree preferredAt least 5 years progressive leadership experience preferably in a clinical settingDemonstrates leadership ability with excellent communication skillsExceptional oral and writing skillsDemonstrates critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to make a decision within organizational structurePosition Summary:Directs all aspects of the clinical and anatomic pathology departments and their related servicesEstablishes policies, procedures, standards, objectives and staffing for the laboratory in conjunction with the laboratorys Medical DirectorMaintains accreditation through compliance with NYSDOH and CAP regulationsPrepares the laboratorys annual budget and adheres to it through the oversite of expenditures and revenueMentors and instructs laboratory professionals and evaluates their performanceCoordinates with other hospital departments to optimize patient careAdopts new technologies, as technically and financially appropriate, to improve revenue and expand testing capabilities
