About the Role:

We are looking for a Director, Legal to play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling our legal function during a period of rapid growth. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you will act as a strategic partner to the business working closely with Sales, Product, Finance, People & Culture, and GRC teams.

You will not only lead key legal initiatives but also help define how legal operates within a modern, fast-moving SaaS company. From enabling efficient deal execution to building scalable processes and implementing legal tech, your work will directly impact the company s ability to grow quickly while managing risk thoughtfully.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and wants to build, not just support. You will take ownership of commercial contracting, guide strategic legal decisions, and help create a forward-thinking legal infrastructure powered by tools, automation, and smart workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer agreements
  • Partner with Sales and GTM teams to accelerate deal cycles while balancing risk and business needs
  • Build and optimize contract workflows, including implementing and scaling a CLM system
  • Support corporate governance matters, including board and audit committee materials
  • Collaborate on GRC initiatives such as privacy and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR)
  • Provide legal guidance on strategic transactions, financings, and product-related matters
  • Manage external counsel efficiently for specialized or complex work
  • Advise on employment-related matters in partnership with People & Culture
  • Help build a modern legal function through scalable processes, legal tech, and automation

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of legal experience, with a focus on commercial contracting and corporate matters
  • A strong legal foundation (LL.B. or J.D.)
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS or high-growth environment preferred
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts with a practical, business-oriented mindset
  • Strong judgment and ability to balance risk with commercial priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to operate in evolving environments and build scalable solutions
