Job Title: Director of Accounting Job Overview:

The Director of Accounting oversees the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of the organization's financial resources. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and collaboration with senior leadership to drive financial performance and organizational growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure efficient operation and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor cash flow, financial planning, and budget management functions.
  • Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic advice to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Drive process improvements and technology enhancements to optimize accounting operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
