Job Description:
Position Overview
The Director of Behavioral Support Services leads after-school, summer camp, and respite programs for children and young adults (ages 3 22) with Autism and other developmental disabilities, including those with high-risk behaviors.
This role ensures high-quality, person-centered services while building a positive, supportive team culture. The Director oversees program operations, staff leadership, compliance, and overall program performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee behavioral services, including functional assessments, individualized behavior plans, and crisis management.
  • Ensure programs follow evidence-based practices, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Supervise 12 14 direct reports and lead a team of approximately 50 70 staff members.
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and staff development.
  • Oversee participant enrollment and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage department budgets responsibly.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports to funders.
  • Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience overseeing ABA services for children and youth with developmental disabilities and high-risk behaviors.
  • Experience managing contracts and working with funders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead large teams effectively.
