Description: Our client is currently seeking a Director of Business Development

This role is responsible for achieving sales objectives by executing along the entire sales cycle.
The main responsibilities will be to close on payload and data sales while also enhancing company relationships with governments and space agencies in the North America and across the Americas, and expanding its business possibilities through government programs, commercial consortiums, and other commercial projects and customers.
The successful candidate will be capable of taking initiative and finding innovative solutions in a technical and political environment.
Candidates should possess a proven record of working amongst all stages of the sales cycle, effectively communicating, managing relationships, and leveraging his/her network to close sales.


While you will be an instrumental member of a small team in the U.
S.
, you will join an international team and be expected to work with colleagues from around the world.
Teamwork is a must.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary.
You must be self-motivated and comfortable making decisions within a fast-paced environment, as well as have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.


This Job Will Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Develop a sale strategy and implementation plan to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/KPI targets across the Americas in aligment with organizational global sales strategy and KPI targets.
  • Identify and manage new business revenue opportunities, understanding client requirements and customizing offers to ensure revenue growth in payload, partnership, and data sales
  • Customize and develop steps for executing along the entire sales cycle from identification of customer demands to closing, ensuring customer satisfaction along the way
  • Build and manage a sales team by recruiting high potential candidates and guiding them through the sales process
  • Coordinating with colleagues from other competence areas within ispace at HQ and other subsidiaries to ensure coherent communication and technical, financial, and legal soundness of commercial offer
  • Work with the US and international governments across the Americas, organizations, and agencies to source or create mechanism for new funds or grants specifically for lunar exploration
  • Draft reports, briefs, presentations and other documents that will educate and assist management in decision making
  • Summarize best practices and share with the global team to improve operational efficiency

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, related domains in the new space arena
  • A successfully completed commercial or technical degree
  • A large business network in the new space arena
  • A proven capability in closing sales and managing international teams
  • Broad technical understanding in space technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Other languages a benefit
  • Experienced handling of MS Office applications, especially Excel and PPT
  • Independent, structured and result-oriented way of working
  • Open-minded and committed personality with a passion for teamwork
