Position Summary:

The HIM Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the HIM Department. This position is highly visible as it is charged with ensuring the accurate collection of health information throughout the organization and conducting privacy training programs. The HIM Director works in conjunction with other departments within the organization in all matters related to health records and data and assists Senior Administration and the Medical Staff in reaching objectives of the organization to include implementing ICD-10 Codes, and advancing the electronic medical records to meet "Meaningful Use" requirements. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment. Responsible for detecting, observing, and reporting compliance variances upward through the chain of command.

Qualifications

  • BS in Health Information Management Administration and/or RRA Certification or a graduate of the correspondence course for health information personnel from the American Health Information Management Association with successful writing of the examination for Registered Record Administrators or of the accreditation examination for Accredited Record Technicians.
  • Must have three (3) years of work experience as a supervisor
  • Must have five (5) years' experience in a Health Information Management Department.
  • Advanced knowledge in the management of patient health records, leadership, and management abilities
  • Superior oral and written communication skills


Schedule: Full Time, 1st shift, M-F 8-4:30
