Job Description

The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for leading the organization’s IT strategy, infrastructure, and application landscape to support business operations within a commercial-centric distribution and light manufacturing/assembly environment. This role provides strategic leadership, oversees enterprise systems, manages IT projects, and leads cross-functional teams to ensure technology solutions align with operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy to support sales, marketing, distribution, supply chain, and operational goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage IT teams, including internal staff and external vendors.
  • Oversee enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, and related business applications (Epicor, Salesforce, and other platforms).
  • Manage IT projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and scope are met.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and business stakeholders to identify technology needs and implement scalable solutions.
  • Ensure system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization and system enhancements.
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and vendor contracts.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and system upgrades or migrations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive IT experience, including experience within commercial, distribution, and/or light manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading IT teams and managing complex technology projects.
  • Strong background in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP, Salesforce CRM, or similar enterprise software solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems integration, and data management.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, implementing, and governing AI-driven technologies (e.g., machine learning tools, automation, predictive analytics, or generative AI) to improve IT operations, cybersecurity, data management, and business outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems, integrations, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience managing IT in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
