Job Description
Role Specification
Director of Marketing

The Company
Timberlane designs and manufactures premium, custom, made-to-order exterior shutters for discerning homeowners, architects, and builders across the U.S. and internationally. For 30 years, we’ve built our reputation on craftsmanship, precision, and an unwavering commitment to a white-glove customer experience. We are unapologetically the highest price point (and highest quality) in our space. We are a vertically integrated, direct-to-consumer brand operating from a 78,000-square-foot facility in Montgomeryville, PA. Timberlane remains privately owned by its founder.

The Role
This is not a “manage agencies and optimize campaigns” marketing role. This is a brand-building, growth-driving, hands-on leadership role for someone who combines exceptional taste, creative instinct, and executional horsepower. You will own the full marketing function with a clear mandate: elevate the Timberlane brand and materially impact revenue growth. You will think strategically, execute personally, and hold yourself accountable for results. We are looking for someone to elevate our brand, energize our team, and help unlock the next stage of growth. This is a full-time, onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Creative Leadership
  • Own and elevate the Timberlane brand across all channels
  • Direct and influence creative output, visual identity, and storytelling
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in every customer-facing touchpoint
  • Lead photography, design, and content direction with a high standard of taste

Growth & Demand Creation
  • Own qualified lead generation and revenue contribution
  • Drive a balanced strategy across brand and performance marketing
  • Optimize for lead quality and conversion, not just volume
  • Personally manage and/or oversee paid media, SEO, and digital channels

Customer Experience (White Glove Focus)
  • Map and improve the end-to-end customer journey
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver a premium experience
  • Infuse emotional intelligence and human connection into all marketing efforts

Execution & Operations
  • Be hands-on in campaign execution when appropriate
  • Manage key external partners and agencies
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform decisions without over-reliance
  • Continuously test, refine, and improve performance

About You
  • You have exceptional taste and can prove it (portfolio required)
  • You have personally shaped and elevated a premium or luxury brand
  • You are creative first, but grounded in business results
  • You are a builder and doer, not just a strategist or manager
  • You bring positive energy, curiosity, and momentum to your work
  • You take full ownership of outcomes, not just activity
  • You are passionate about design, architecture, or the built environment
  • You are comfortable getting into the weeds and executing at a high level
  • You use AI to accelerate execution, not generate ideas
  • You bring original perspective, taste, and creativity that AI tools cannot replicate

This Role is NOT for you if
  • You rely heavily on AI to generate ideas or content
  • You have not contributed to creative direction or brand development
  • You prefer managing agencies over doing the work yourself
  • You are more comfortable analyzing campaigns than creating them
  • You lack interest in design, architecture, or the built environment
  • You bring low energy or negativity

Experience & Background
  • 10+ years in marketing, with leadership responsibility
  • Proven success in brand building and revenue growth
  • Experience in premium, luxury, or design-oriented industries preferred
  • Background in small to mid-sized companies where you were hands-on
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, but not purely a technician
  • Experience with Salesforce, Google Analytics, and marketing tools
