This position is responsible for ensuring that nursing care is delivered safely, consistently, and in alignment with established policies, procedures, and standards-always with a focus on quality outcomes and compassionate care for every patient we serve.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Nursing Operations helps shape systems and processes that strengthen care delivery, support staff, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a thoughtful, experienced leader who is passionate about developing teams and advancing excellence in patient care.
What You'll DoNursing Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership and direction for nursing departments, including MedSurg, Surgery, and Emergency Services
- Ensure nursing policies, procedures, and standards effectively support clinical practice and patient care delivery
- Monitor and evaluate nursing operations to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality care
- Design and implement systems and processes that enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence across nursing teams
- Partner with organizational leadership to align nursing operations with strategic goals and performance initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices
- Support adherence to patient privacy, confidentiality, and safety requirements
- Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and accreditation processes
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and support departments to promote coordinated, patient-centered care
- Mentor, support, and develop nursing staff to encourage engagement and professional growth
- Lead through clear communication, teamwork, and thoughtful problem-solving
What You'll BringEducation & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience
- Prior nursing leadership experience preferred
- Experience with:
- Healthcare operations and team leadership
- Project management and change management principles
- Information privacy, release of information, and access control practices
- Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to translate complex regulatory and operational concepts into clear, actionable guidance
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive results through others
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
Licensure & Certification
- Current Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
