Job Title: Director Of Operations
Reports to: SVP and General Manager
Job Summary:
Ensures increasing levels of customer and team member satisfaction while improving the efficiency of the shipyard operations, including quality, scheduling, labor, materials, and equipment.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of directly related manufacturing leadership experience required.
Prior experience with NAVSEA standards and customer product expectations.
Demonstrated success in deploying Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives.
Experience leading cross-functional teams, including General Foremen, Fabrication Supervisors, Quality, Scheduling, and Engineering.
Strong background in ISO9001, AS9100, NQA-1, or other quality management systems.
Proven ability to develop and implement training plans and process standardization.

Communicate operational strategy to all levels of the organization
Strong project planning and forward-looking execution (3–6 month minimum planning horizon).
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production control infrastructures.
High-level analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking capabilities.
Ability to lead performance improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Track record of employee development and team engagement.
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards and on time delivery.
Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Implement effective and efficient workflow in all areas of responsibility.
Responsible for the operations of the organization in fabrication, machining, steel processing, finishing, production, and on time delivery.
Implement a fully functional and accurate supply chain management/production control infrastructure utilizing the Company’s MRP/ERP system.
Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, visual controls and plant performance in support of ISO9001:2015 measurables.
Ensures compliance with company and regulatory standards for all areas of responsibility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements:
Less than 10%.
Physical Requirements:
May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
Lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
