Goliath made a major shift in the company's direction last year by evolving from primarily a game company to a significant player in the broader toy industry. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue and maximizing efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
3PL and Warehouse Management
- Lead and manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring high performance through contract negotiation, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
- Develop and implement comprehensive 3PL strategies to optimize warehousing, inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, and cost control.
Logistics Management
- Oversee the logistics team covering both domestic and international freight operations, including import and export shipping.
- Negotiate contracts with freight carriers, monitor shipping performance, and resolve any logistical issues to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Continuously assess and optimize shipping processes to streamline the flow of goods and reduce lead times, enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.
Order Fulfillment and Operations
- Ensure smooth order fulfillment processes in coordination with 3PL partners, focusing on inventory availability, accurate picking, and timely shipping.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other operations teams to resolve logistical or fulfillment challenges and improve operational workflows.
- Work with the S&OP team to ensure timely and cost-effective fulfillment of promotional pallets and special assemblies while maintaining profit margins.
Office and Facilities Management
- Oversee office management operations, ensuring timely procurement of supplies, space modifications, and necessary maintenance.
- Work with property management to address facility needs and maintain a conducive working environment.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance goals, provide constructive feedback, and support team members' professional growth.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and employee engagement.
Cross-Training and Process Improvement
- Implement cross-training initiatives within the operations team to enhance skillsets and increase flexibility.
- Create and maintain comprehensive training materials to onboard new team members effectively.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across logistics, 3PL management, and order fulfillment to reduce operational costs and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Education: BA, BS, MBA, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 10+ years in operations, logistics (both domestic and import), and warehouse management.
- Skills: Strong expertise in managing 3PL relationships, contract negotiation, and logistics optimization.
- Communication: Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Tools: Experience with MS Dynamics BC and Jet Reporting, with intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills required.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
