Director of Worship and Choir Position
The Staff Parish Relations Committee of Geneva Methodist Church is inviting applications to fill the position of choral and worship director at Geneva Methodist Church. Geneva Methodist Church is a traditionalist congregation committed to the authority of Scripture and the biblical view of marriage as a union between a man and a woman. We are looking for candidates who will be enthusiastic about our mission and vision to fulfill the Great Commission in the Geneva Area. The successful candidate will facilitate all choir rehearsal sessions with the choir, work with the pastor in setting the music and singing goals for the church throughout the year, and provide leadership in congregational singing at all church services. The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
1. Must be a born-again Christian committed to the authority of Scripture consistent with the views of the Global Methodist Church
2. Must be committed to the Global Methodist Churchs statement of faith.
3. Must be willing to work with the pastor to help set the musical goals for the church
4. Must have a bachelors degree in voice and choral conducting or its equivalent (such as professional training in voice and choral conducting)
5. Must be able to interpret anthems and set pieces and communicate such interpretations to the choir members in ways that enable the members to capture the mood and message intended by the composer of the given piece.
6. Must demonstrate a determinate ability to teach each choir section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) and help the choir members learn their parts before performing before any given audience.
7. Must be willing to prepare the choir for all choral presentations during the annually scheduled cantatas, concerts, and music emphasis Sundays
8. Must have the ability to lead congregational singing from the pulpit
9. Must be willing to undergo regular evaluation as deemed necessary by the Staff Parish Relations Committee.
10. Attend Worship committee meetings
11. Weekly hours: 2 hours for choir practice per week and 10 am noon each Sunday
12. All remunerations and financial compensations will be determined through consultations with the SPRC committee.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 per hour
