Position Summary

The Application Dispatcher will provide clear directions and work orders to our professional applicators with focus on the most efficient way to execute those work orders. Working closely with the Location Managers, Bookkeepers, Sales Agronomists, and Custom Applicators, this position will ensure equipment is dispatched to customers timely and efficiently along with overseeing the invoicing and inventory management processes. Leads and ensures all offseason training and equipment preparation is being completed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with agronomists and managers in organizing application orders and fertilizer loads to keep all equipment moving in the most efficient manner.
  • Works closely with agronomists and custom applicators to ensure equipment is dispatched to customers timely and efficiently.
  • Works with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and timely loading of all tender trucks.
  • Ensures maps and directions are clear for applicators by utilizing MZB Dispatch systems.
  • Communicates with each location in the dispatch group to help them manage their staff accordingly.
  • Manages and communicates inventory needs with locations.
  • Assists the Regional Management team in planning for future operational needs for the region.
  • Assists locations involved with managing assets for application services including replacement, expansion, divestment, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Works closely with agronomists, managers, and customers to handle any misapplication or non-performance claims.
  • Meets with applicators regularly to discuss their performance and goals.
  • Identify and coordinate training for the staff concerning commercial application
  • Participates in managing the application bonus program for each applicator in the dispatch group
  • Works with administration to help improve the electronic dispatching process
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year technical school; or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English Proficiency.
  • Previous logistics, dispatch software background, and DOT regulations knowledge can be beneficial.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
