What We Need:     

We are looking for a Distribution Team Lead to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team in Iowa City, Iowa! 

This position requires a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of logistics in a distribution center setting along with forklift, clamp truck, and inventory scanning experience. This position provides daily leadership in one or more work areas on a shift through guidance from upper-level supervisors.     

Shift: 1st

What You Will Do:     

• Coordinates, provides leadership and reviews work of assigned members. 
• Read and follow schedules in order to determine needed product while adhering to all quality standards and safety rules. 
• Leads workers to maintain a work pace that supports goals. 
• Plans and schedules for maintenance and service of assigned equipment. 
• Acts as liaison with other departments, units, or organizations. 
• Prepares reports (MDI, Pareto, safety, etc.) concerning activities of assigned departments. 
• Follow standard work for all positions performed; suggest and document improvements to standard work. 
• Work with support team (Distribution Center Manager, MCR, Quality members and Factory Manager) to address issues or concerns. 
• Maintain daily metric boards (6S, productivity, quality, etc) for area. 
• Support training of new members 
• Communicate daily targets and lead daily area meetings 
• Lead safety/quality executive walks 
• Apply organizational policies and assures adherence to departmental, plant and organizational procedures. Recommend and implement changes in methods and/or procedures. 

What You Have:         

• 3+ years of lead experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment 
• Operating Forklifts 
• Operating Clamp Trucks 
• Inventory Scanning
