About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for the Commercial Flight Control Division. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to influence key operational areas while managing a team of six commodity managers who require coaching and development.
As the Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager, you will oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies critical to the production of commercial aerospace products. This position involves strategic supplier management, cost optimization, and driving continuous improvement aligned with lean enterprise principles.
This role directly reports to the Division Supply Chain Director and interacts with key stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality control, marketing, and finance. You will also maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy & Execution: Lead and manage the division's procurement activities, including raw materials, parts, and operating supplies
- Develop and execute strategies for identifying new suppliers, qualifying second-source suppliers, and overseeing work transfers between suppliers
- Drive the implementation of Best Cost Region strategies to optimize procurement efficiency.
- Supplier Management: Establish and manage preferred supplier selection criteria, including evaluations of cost, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with regulations
- Partner with suppliers to implement and manage continuous improvement programs focusing on quality, delivery, service, and cost.
- Ensure alignment with Group Strategic Suppliers while leveraging local suppliers where appropriate.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of six commodity managers, providing coaching and development to build team capabilities and performance.
- Oversee purchasing and materials managers to ensure alignment with division goals.
- Process Optimization & Technology Integration: Embrace and drive lean enterprise systems across the procurement process
- Develop automated re-order procedures and contingency plans for crisis management.
- Integrate electronic interfacing throughout purchasing functions and recommend automation opportunities.
- Performance & Compliance: Benchmark best practices among suppliers, maintain accurate metrics, and evaluate supplier performance.
- Ensure purchases and expenditures align with division strategies and budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of strategic sourcing and supply chain management experience, including at least 7 years in leadership roles.
- Aerospace industry experience is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or materials management (advanced certifications in supply chain management preferred).
- Strong analytical and technical skills with a functional understanding of cost accounting.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with electronic processing systems.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualities:
- Proven ability to innovate and implement lean enterprise principles and practices.
- Experience developing supplier crisis management and backup contingency programs.
