About the Role

At ALULA, quality and food safety are at the heart of everything we do. As our Document Control Specialist, youll play a hands-on role in protecting product integrity, supporting SQF certification, and ensuring our dietary supplement products meet the highest quality and safety standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and being truly involved in day-to-day operations not stuck behind a desk all day.

What Youll Do

Youll be a key part of the Quality team, supporting systems, audits, testing, and continuous improvement across the facility.

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Support and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation and records.
  • Help ensure compliance with SQF (Levels 2 & 3), GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, USDA, and dietary supplement regulations (21 CFR Part 111).
  • Review quality documentation to confirm products meet specifications.
  • Track quality KPIs and share monthly updates with leadership.

Audits, Inspections & Improvement

  • Participate in and lead internal audits and SQF compliance activities.
  • Lead Glass & Hard Plastics audits and support sanitation and food safety inspections.
  • Manage corrective actions and quality holds, helping drive timely resolution.
  • Support mock recalls and continuous improvement initiatives.

Testing, Suppliers & Collaboration

  • Perform product, environmental, allergen, ATP, and sanitizer testing.
  • Coordinate third-party testing and communicate results.
  • Work closely with suppliers to verify compliance and maintain documentation.
  • Review incoming COAs and help maintain ingredient and packaging records.

Packaging, Equipment & Training

  • Inspect incoming materials and packaging for compliance.
  • Coordinate equipment calibrations (scales, metal detectors, lab equipment).
  • Provide SQF training and support HACCP plan reviews.
  • Communicate quality expectations clearly across teams.

What You Bring

  • A high school diploma/GED with at least 1 year of experience in quality, inspections, or manufacturing
    OR a related degree/certification with at least 6 months of experience
  • A detail-oriented mindset and a passion for quality and food safety
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Comfort performing hands-on work, inspections, and testing in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for a full shift and lift up to 15 pounds (up to 60 pounds occasionally)
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and work at heights when needed
  • Manual dexterity, basic math skills, and visual acuity to assess product quality
