Location: Houston, Texas (Northwest Drive Train location) Term: Summer 2025 or Flexible Start Date Paid InternshipAbout UsLWK Enterprises is a Texas-based leader in heavy-duty truck parts and service, with 5 locations across the state. We specialize in providing heavy duty truck parts, drivetrain, hydraulic, telematics, and custom service solutions for truck owners, fleets, municipalities, and industrial operations. What sets us apart is our commitment to quality, speed, and people. Our experienced team builds custom driveshafts, differentials, and transmissions in-house—and we’re proud to invest in the next generation of technicians through hands-on internships and mentorship.What You’ll Learn• Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild drivelines for various makes and models• Measure, balance, and align components using precision tools and shop equipment• Identify and replace U-joints, yokes, slip shafts, center bearings, and other key components• Understand the importance of runout, phasing, and balancing for driveline performance• Shop machinery includes lathes, presses, and balancing equipment• Read work orders, follow build specifications, and maintain documentation• Apply real-world problem-solving to support up time and reduce vibration and failure issues for our customers• Work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on quality and safetyBy the end of the internship, you’ll have a solid understanding of driveline systems, rebuild processes, and the workflow of a professional heavy-duty service operation.Preferred Skills• Welding, machining, or diesel tech background• Basic mechanical knowledge or hands-on experience with vehicle components• Familiarity with shop tools such as calipers, micrometers, impact wrenches, or presses• Understanding of drivetrain components (U-joints, yokes, shafts, etc.)• Ability to read measurements and follow detailed instructions• Strong attention to detail and precision in a hands-on work environment• Willingness to learn and take directions from experienced technicians• Great communication skills and a team-oriented mindset• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diesel tech, automotive, or mechanical program (preferred but not required)How to Apply Send your resume to kholden@nwdrivetrain.comSubject Line: Driveshaft Build Intern – [Your Name]
