AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a DME Fitter & Care Coordinator to support patient care operations in Cherry Hill Township, NJ. This role focuses on fitting durable medical equipment and orthotic devices while coordinating care between patients, clinicians, and referral sources.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on patient support with strong coordination skills to ensure individuals receive properly fitted equipment and a seamless care experience. This position plays an important role in improving patient mobility, comfort, and overall quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Fit and adjust durable medical equipment (DME) and orthotic devices based on patient needs and clinical guidance
  • Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of prescribed equipment
  • Coordinate patient care activities including scheduling fittings, follow-up appointments, and equipment delivery
  • Maintain communication with physicians, therapists, and referral sources regarding patient progress
  • Verify patient documentation, prescriptions, and insurance requirements for equipment services
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and address equipment-related concerns
  • Support inventory tracking and coordination of equipment orders
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards

Requirements

  • Experience fitting durable medical equipment or orthotic devices preferred
  • Background in healthcare support, patient coordination, or medical equipment services
  • Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills
  • Ability to explain equipment usage and provide patient education
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and healthcare documentation processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative teams
  • Basic understanding of mobility equipment, braces, or orthotics preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in orthotics, prosthetics, or rehabilitation settings
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare documentation workflows
  • Knowledge of insurance authorizations related to DME services
  • Experience supporting patient care in outpatient or clinical environments
