Dutch Harbor Expeditor Warehouse Manager Apply
The Dutch Harbor Expeditor and Warehouse Manager’s primary role is to oversee O’Hara Corporations land-side operations in Dutch Harbor. This includes overseeing and managing logistics for crew movement, crew coordinators, and managing the operations of O’Hara Corporation’s warehouse in Dutch Harbor. This position is expected to regularly interact with crew members, vendors, contractors, and company staff to execute the duties of the role in accordance with our core values of Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, and Passion.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on behalf of O’Hara Corporation regarding its Dutch Harbor operations.
- Oversees and leads Crew Logistics in Dutch Harbor and Alaska Ports:
- Oversees the handling of crew movement to and from the vessels while in port
- Coordinates Southbound travel and private charter flight travel
- Works with vessels to transport injured (non-critical) crew members to airport or clinic (if applicable)
- Assists and coordinates with shore-based office staff in crew new hire and HR paperwork
- Manages Warehouse Operations for O’Hara Corporation Dutch Harbor Warehouses:
- Periodic Inventory of items in Dutch Harbor Warehouses
- Labeling items received that are stored in Warehouse
- Labeling & documenting items already in warehouse that are not documented
- Managing TM Master for items that are in the warehouse
- Assess warehouse layout, rack locations, and efficiency of items moving in and out
- Receive shipments and orders
- Proficient in TM Master – Purchasing, Warehouse Management, and Maintenance Software
- During Fishing Season:
- Support and assist O’Hara vessels as needed to reduce vessel time spent in port
- Procure needed purchases in Dutch Harbor as directed
- Deliver or make arrangement for delivery of items from the warehouses to multiple dock locations
- Ensures that O’Hara Corporation’s vehicles are clean and maintained in Dutch Harbor
- Other job duties as directed by O’Hara Corporation’s Executive Team from time to time.
Work Environment:
- Dutch Harbor, Alaska stationary position
- Flexibility regarding hours of work is required as needed to meet demands of the job.
- Position may be exposed to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. The company provides appropriate PPE.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may be directly at the work site where the employee could be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Forklift Operator Certification
- Computer and Microsoft Office Competency.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Past experience in logistics and warehouse management in preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Physical and technical requirements that meet the standards of O’Hara Corporation
- Infrequent lifting up to 25lbs
- Frequent walking and standing for periods exceeding one hour
- Frequent keyboard use and sitting at a desk
- Frequent bending, twisting and reaching.
