Easements Realty Specialist Apply
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
EASEMENTS REALTY SPECIALIST
The Trust for Tomorrow has one opening for an Easements Realty Specialist, with emphasis on supporting enrollment and acquisition of conservation easements. This position will support USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) enrollment, acquisition, planning, implementation and monitoring of conservation easement projects in Florida. The anticipated start date for the position is April 1, 2024.
Duties will include:
- Serve as technical analyst and advisor to Assistant State Conservationist for Easements on real estate laws, concepts and principles relating to the acquisition, administration, and enforcement of easements.
- Coordinates with other staff to develop specific cases procedures that comply with acquisition status, real estate principles, and guidelines to protect the Government's interests.
- Orders and reviews property titles documents, appraisals and Easement Deeds and attachments,
- Reviews subordinations, affidavits, and other documents to determine their adequacy and completeness.
- Assists with real property activities such as negotiating/reviewing easement deeds.
- Evaluates easement offers, prepares acquisition documents, and administers easements in accordance with terms and conditions of the easement deeds and programs regulations.
- Consult with USDA Office of General Council and contact title insurance companies to resolve deficiencies and resolve exceptions to clear title.
- Provides specification guidance to surveyors and receives and reviews survey documents.
- Provides training on applicable rules, regulations, policies and guidance to NRCS staff.
- Maintains regular contact with closing agents, appraisers, surveyors, agency state personnel, landowners, attorneys, and others to provide information and guidance.
- All other duties assigned by Assistant State Conservationist for Easements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- Two years experience with deeds, easements, rights-of-way, surveys, and legal descriptions
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders.
- Experience with deeds, easements, rights-of-way, surveys, and legal descriptions preferred.
- Must be computer proficient with Microsoft programs and internet based applications.
- Individuals primary work location will be at the NRCS State Office in Gainesville, FL. Telework may be approved for up to 2 days per week.
- Salary will be based on experience and qualifications with a projected starting base salary of $70,000.00, as well as a health insurance stipend of $500 per month to be paid through salary. The Trust for Tomorrow provides employees with 10 days paid sick leave, 10 days paid annual leave, and 11 Federal holidays. Employee will be eligible for annual performance bonus consideration after 1 year of employment and SEP IRA participation after 3 years of employment with the organization.
