HEART ENDOVASCULAR AND RHYTHM OF TEXAS - (H.E.A.R.T.)

Job Title: Part-time Echo/Vascular Sonographer Adult and/or Geriatric Patients

Shift: Thursdays at our Dripping Springs location from 8am-5pm- Part Time; PRN; Contract; Accommodations for Specific Shift Request. There may be opportunities to cover the our James Casey location as needed.

Reports To: Administrator / Clinical Lead

Position Summary: As an Echo/Vascular Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasonic imaging and all related echocardiography and vascular procedures. You will demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while recognizing sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissue, structures, and blood flow by/or at the request of a licensed practitioner.The Sonographer coordinates activities of personnel engaged in performing chemical and physical tests required for quality control of processes and products by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include Some or All of the Following Depending on Sonographer Level of Training and Specialty:To perform this job optimally and successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following optimally on adult and/or geriatric patients; other duties may be assigned.   • You will perform Echocardiograms and Stress Echocardiograms.
  • You will administer contrast agents that are required and/or indicated by the exam requested.
  • You will perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for Deep Vein Thrombosis or Venous insufficiency
  • You will perform Carotid Duplex exam protocol.
  • You will perform upper/lower extremity arterial flow exam.
  • You will complete required documentation on forms, logs and within the computer system.
  • Continuation of the ICAL accreditation process.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations in a H.E.A.R.T. Imaging Lab.
  • Directs and advises personnel and patients in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of materials.
  • Compiles and analyzes test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Confers with physicians to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
  • Conducts and investigates complaints on existing systems.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet testing schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve testing procedures and use of equipment.
  • Analyzes and resolves, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Demonstrates effective, professional, and open communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and written skills, to directly and indirectly interact with physicians, patients, guests, and health team members.
  • Maintains time and testing records.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience:

One year experience as an Echo/Vascular sonographer and able to work independently.

Certificates and Licenses:

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer ( CCI-RVS), and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS) credentials with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
